DIY-ing and other creative trials…
It’s this fairy’s brithday month! WOOHOOO!
And I’ve been reflecting on how I want this month to go— though its already going—like WOW, time is such an illusion, because how are we already 3 months into this new year?!
But back to reflecting: I’ve been juggling a couple ideas and DIY activities in order to tackle my creative goals with more curiosity and also to have more fun in general! So, I’m getting crafty with new ideas, some more simple than others.
When it comes to life things, I really want to chart my own course, not just take a path someone else wants for me. I have a feeling, you feel the same way too, magical girl!
I’m being brave with my choices and this calls for trial and error:
Magical experiments to figure out what works, because I’m curious and a little determined.
So, without further punting and chatting, here’s a few creative experiments I’m working on this month.
PAINTING MY NAILS (MYSELF!)
Go ahead and laugh, boo, but I have never really done this before (according to my memory), up until two weeks ago!
I painted my toe nails myself and it was one of the most relaxing, joyful things EVER.
It was legit so fun, I was shocked. I even had a tv show in the background, on and off—I usually don’t multi-task because it overwhelms me lol, but it worked! And I didn’t even get anxious once, even as I paused the show a few times to check on the paint.
It felt soooo self care—base coat, wait for it to dry as I smile to myself, etc. Shout out to that one reddit post I found with detailed info on how to paint your nails.
You see, I realized (only last month) that the nail salon isn’t my favorite place to be. And though this might change in the future, for now I am OVER IT. And so I thought:
Anastasia, let’s be cute and DIY this thing for a better experience.
And I was right—let me tell you, it feels good to be right.
I’m planning on painting my finger nails too for my upcoming birthday. I have, in fact, bought four shades of pink (okay, so one is more mulberry, but still) and two different shades of sparkles to overlay—this fairy is PUMPED!
If there’s an outside experience you’re no longer enjoying, I urge you to bring it inside, into your own hands, and make it solo—turn it into something you love, by DIY-ing that ish!
MAKING PRETTY NOTES
This one is interesting because I randomly had the idea (also last month), and I have no clue if it’ll actually work. Or if it makes sense. Still, since I’m experimenting and no harm comes from just trying, here goes:
I want to turn people’s notes—school, work, personal notes and or otherwise—✨PRETTY✨!
I want to use my cute graphic skills to turn messy notes into pretty, digital notes that make people SMILE and BEAM. Super duper, pretty notes for your motivation (I’m looking at the university/journaling girlies). And, I do hope that I make a profit out of it, *sweats in fairy coin*.
Essentially, I’ve been looking for a more fun, freelancing gig and I wonder if this might work—I’m putting it out into the universe and seeing what happens.

DESIGNING WHIMSY NOTION
I love notion!!
It’s just this blank canvas where you can decorate, design, and craft your own little systems.
Many use it to be productive. And though sometimes I too use it in that way…most of the time, I just LOVE making notion a silly, fun, creative and emotionally inspiring place!
I enjoy creating templates that are whimsical and make you smile and laugh; leaving you eager to store your creative ideas and process your emotions in fun ways!
It’s about having FUN and building your creative and emotional world—I call this “Whimsy Notion”.
So, this year, I’m on a mission to make a new whimsy notion template every month. Here’s some of my favorites that I’ve made so far (I even made some in 2024):
